Resistance to flow

Here's another Flint Hydraulics Tech Tip: If a faucet is partially closed, it resists flow by forcing all the flow to pass through a smaller opening. A gauge upstream of the faucet inlet will show an increase of pressure. Closing the faucet a bit will not necessarily reduce the flow rate out of the faucet. If there is no other flow path, the pressure will rise to the level required to push the full flow rate through the smaller opening. Need help troubleshooting?
